Aubrey Plaza (born June 26 April 1984) is a stand-up actor and comedian who is famous for her ability to express her humor in a deadpan way. April Ludgate plays her on Parks and Recreation. After performing improv and sketch comedy in the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater Plaza launched her own web series with The Jeannie Tate Show. Aubrey Christina Plaza (born in Wilmington Delaware) is the child of Bernadette Plaza, who is an lawyer by trade and David Plaza a financial consultant. Both of her parents are both Irish/English and Puerto Rican. Plaza was a student at a Catholic girls in 2002 through 2006 and then went to in 2006, she enrolled at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She was the president of her high school's student government and participated in Wilmington Drama League productions during her time as a senior. Plaza was paralyzed for a time in 2004 after having a stroke. She is now completely healed. Plaza began performing improv, sketch comedy, and a range of other styles at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater New York City in 2004. Also, she's performed stand-up comedy at the Laugh Factory and The Improv in N.Y.C. Plaza has appeared on television as Robin Gibney in E.S.P.N.'s Mayne Street, The Jeannie Tate Show as well as the debut episode Terrible Decisions starring Ben Schwartz.
