Adults are humans or animals that have reached their full development. The term "adult" is often used in the context of humans to mean the legal and social aspects. Legal adult means a person is at the point of maturity and can be considered to be independent, self sufficient and accountable. The term "major" may be used to define them. The age for achieving legally adulthood is 18 although definition may vary by the legal rights of the country as well as the stage of psychological development.

Adulthood refers to the period that an individual has reached maturity in terms of both physical and mental growth. The age of adulthood typically begins when a person reaches the age of 21. Mid-life, beginning around 40 years old then follows by old age at about 60 years. The adulthood process is split into three stages beginning with early adulthood (18-mid-30s) and mid-30s to mid-60s and late adulthood mid-60s until death. The early adulthood stage is the one of physical maturity that you reach when you attain the age of 20 to 40 years old. Our height and weight are likely to rise. The physical abilities of our bodies are at their peak in young adulthood. It includes strength of muscles, reflex time, sensitivities, and functioning of the heart.
